Regardless the ambiguity of your previous post left your fans to grovel! This isn't said in spite or with sarcastic undertones, just that its easy to rally the troops of comfort!
Obviously people on a daily basis become disenfranchised with their career choice, however becoming disenfranchised with an industry in which you are forever immortalized while "doing the nasty", can be quite an upsetting realization once one comes to the gradual understanding that money isn't everything.
Regardless peoples perceptions change, and not everyones experience is the same. For all you know your colleague's "growing up" was the realization of the absurdity of your industry, making a decision that she had made a mistake in terms of her entry into it.
You say the industry doesn't change, but people do, they get scared, they run, they fight, they turn their best friends into their worst enemies, it happens all the time. I had someone quite close to me turn on me almost 6 months ago, and I'm not the porn industry.
Women can be temporal with their choices and decisions in particular, I don't know if this is sexist but its my opinion considering you ladies tend to be guided more by feeling, than logic and reason.
ps could you please refrain from the graphic images, otherwise I can't read your blog in public places, and ps, your current choice is kinda creepy, especially with the other guy standing off in the background. What is your email address by the way? It would be interesting to ask you several questions.
Thanks for clearing that up, Kayden. I just recently watched an episode of the Tyra Banks Show where she had Sasha Grey, a child prostitute, and a former porn star turned prostitute turned adult film industry hater. It was interesting, but it felt like one of those shows where the goal is to point out how fucked up the industry is and how messed up the girls are who work in it rather than have an actual discussion.
The girl you're talking about makes me think of the girl on Tyra's show who was bad-mouthing the industry and felt like a victim for what she'd been doing in it. As I was listening to what she had to say, I felt like I was hearing a story of the girl's own foolishness than of an industry that had actually caused her the harm in the first place.
I think it's all relative, really. The adult film industry covers such a wide array of things. Everything from high-quality, professional gigs such as The 8th Day (now available!) to guys advertising on Craigslist for women to have sex with them in their apartments for some website falls under the umbrella term of "adult video."
I remember being on the set of The 8th Day. I don't know who it was, but one of the other extras made some sort of lewd comment to either you or one of the other girls. The director gathered us all together and informed us that this behavior was absolutely prohibited. We weren't to speak rudely to the girls, we weren't allowed to inappropriately touch the girls, and we weren't allowed to go into various areas of the set where the girls might be taking a break. The guy responsible for the rude comment was ejected from the set and the director warned us that the same punishment would fall upon anyone else who tried anything funny.
When I hear of girls leaving the industry in tears, I think one of two things: 1. They think the industry will support them forever and are wrong. 2. They've only done the underground, unprofessional, and potentially dangerous adult films where they weren't treated very well.
On a separate note, thank you for changing the way people can comment on your blog, Kayden! This should seriously dissuade people like Grant and your random Kayden impersonator. Good show! :)

Ms. Kross,
These were a couple of intriguing posts, and I'm thankful that a professional is posting and giving her thoughts on all sorts of matters.
Also, I just wanted to say that I very much enjoy your blog, and your tweets, too. You have a great conversational style of writing and it's wonderful to read, whether it's about a cute kitten, a crazy roadie, or the ins and outs of the industry.
Thank you.
bing. bang.BOOM! short, to the point and as rough as the industry can be, true.
Ah, the long-awaited, all too rare other half of the perpetually juggled equation. The dose of reality side. I like these better, even though I know they're nothing without the other. Maybe it's just because they happen less often, but I have a sneaking suspicion it's because they expose the weakness in your entire game in an easier to attack manner.
Now, I know you're talking about your coworkers in this particular post (and yes, they are your coworkers because without the numbers, the saturation needed to alter the consumer's mind and lock in your revenue stream wouldn't be possible), and not your customers, but the principle remains the same. You all work and work and work yourself, and anyone you can get to go along with you, into a rationalized lather about how fantasy and reality are equals, how trading and taking are one and the same, etc, etc, etc... and then when that attitude actually changes someone's personality and shows you that posts like this is all that you have for protection, you're full of self-rigtheous scorn.
Huh, I just thought of another reason why I like the santimonious side better: It shows who's simply a weak-willed moron and who's actually, willfully evil.
Hi Kayden
Take each day as it comes and hold your head high.
Where's the love?
ManWhoCriedSheep- This blog is not written for you and I'll be posting whatever pictures I feel go with the post at the time. Ultimately it just comes down to what pictures I have on my computer that haven't been used yet and don't show explicit nudity. And no, you're not pulling me into a chain of email questions.
ManWhoCriedSheep,
Kayden is a porn star. A huge one. She blogs about her life, in which porn plays an obvious and substantial role. What kind of pictures would you expect her to post? Political cartoons? She's visually stunning, which one reason why she attracts so many fans...hence the pictures of her "doing the nasty."
I'm also not wild about the statement "you ladies tend to be guided more by feeling, than logic and reason." I'm pretty sure Kayden's choice (and the choice of others) to pursue porn wasn't solely based on "feeling." Can't one derive enjoyment by being in porn (which Kayden does) AND continue to be in porn for logical reasons or out of self-interest (the six-figure salary, freedom to continue being a student, etc.)?
I agree, Kayden. No explicit nudity is always best, but why that pic? It looks like you have the disease, "Noassatall."
Chicken shit. Why don't you post it? Pretty easy to slam others while hiding behind your blog.
I'm surpised and flattered at once. Go ahead, bet on me becoming a caricature of myself, but I'll give you a hint: I have a purpose.
Just returning the favor in thanks for you choosing to continue to facilitate it. It's nice to be reminded at times, straight from the horse's mouth no less, about the efficacy of what it is that I'm doing.
I'm glad to see a comment moderation has been enabled. I never thought the `other girl' was you anyway.xx
Just because your comment doesn't go up immediately doesn't mean I'm not allowing it to go up. It means I haven't checked my email since you wrote it. Dumbass.
The only comments I'll be deleting are the ones people try to put up under my own name. I really don't care if you have a problem with it.
